Company History
1972
Almost at the same time as the formation of UAE, the original founders of this company obtained the license to practice architectural, engineering & MEP services consulting from a very young and newly formed Dubai Municipality.
1982
With the initial growth of Dubai, the company grew and carried out small to mid-sized residential and commercial projects in Dubai.
1994
Dubai was metamorphizing into a dynamic city and an appropriate change in leadership was needed to propel MEC into the new millennium. The original founders stepped down and appointed Mr. Ramesh Tolani as the MD & CEO of re-branded Model Engineering Consultants.
2004
With the new management at the helm since 1994, Model witnessed a decade of excellence and phenomenal growth during which over 250 projects were designed and brought to life. The staff strength also grew to a team of 30 architects & engineers.
2012
Since the new management setup in 1994, the two decades had witnessed the completion of over 450, engineered by a bigger team of 60 full-time architects and Engineers. Model Engineering has achieved the respect of the industry as one of the most professional and dependable engineering consulting firms.
2014
The years of 2012 to 2014 were the most challenging years for the entire real estate and construction industry in the UAE and the rest of the world as well. And by the end of 2014 a sense of change and regrowth was essential. Model underwent another re-branding exercise and re-strategized its marketing and technical approach for all projects.
2017
The two-year period from 2014 to 2016, once again reassured the market leadership position of Model Engineering Consultants. Model obtained the grade A consultancy status from Dubai Municipality which allowed MEC to handle Ground + Unlimited floors project. In this short span of 2 years; Model was assigned to more than 50 new projects with the total estimated construction value of over USD 300 Million. Managing these new projects, was a much larger team of over 80 dedicated engineers and architects.
2022
As the 50th year anniversary of Model Engineering approached, the management took the opportunity to send across to its customers and the real estate market a strong message portraying Model as much larger a stronger & re-branding strategy along with several benchmark operational changes. By mid-2023 MEC our company proudly handling over 100 projects with cummulative construction value of AED 3 Billion.
